Great Fan Mini

Grandmother’s Fan has always been a favorite of mine and I adored my grandmother, Violet Osborn Weeks, who encouraged me to sew, embroider, and generally be creative. Some of you might call this a Dresden Plate, but to me, it is grouped fans, so a Great Fan of Grandma. Fans are so versatile because of the changes that can be made to the blades (see myAsymmetric Fan series) and the many, many sets. The sample is appliquéd with a tiny machine buttonhole stitch, but there are also directions for hand work if that is your preference.
