Petite Fleur Mini

My wonderful grandmother was named “Violet” and she grew African violets, so the violets are for her. Pinks are called “Gillyflowers” in England, so the pinks are for me. The violets are four-petal (artistic license)ruched flowers. Use pinking shears to cut out the pinks. Violetcenters are two yellow beads or French knots. Flower and leaf techniques are different on each quilt. The vases are appliquéd in layers to give a dimensional look. The entire background and both borders are paper-pieced. Once the background, borders, and vase are completed, the piece is quilted and bound. The flowers and leaves are then attached.
