Tropical Ti Bowtie Mini

Bowties and hibiscus, what do they have in common? Back in college, I had a tropical Ti plant. We pronounced it with a long “i” back then, so I’m playing with tie and being pronounced the same way. There are directions/patterns for three different ways to piece the bowtie block and, of course, directions for making the directional hibiscus, buds, and leaves. Whether you select one technique or try all three you will need a total of 36 blocks for the cover set. Most bowtie quilts call for a single background color, but not this quilt. I wanted a wilder, more mixed look, so every bow tie color is also used as a background color somewhere in the quilt.
