Papyrus Mini

The outer border appliqué was inspired by the beautifully illustrated children’s book, “Croco’Nile”. The flowers don’t appear in the book, but the style is reminiscent. This is a mostly paper pieced and appliquédquilt which evolved from a mini round robin I was in with quilters Above the Clouds in Woodland Park, CO.(Side story, one woman dropped out and gave back the center square. I forgot until the day before the quilt was due, and so did the whole quilt, I designed a new center and you have “Papyrus”.What looks like pieced borders are plain borders embellished with simple appliqué squares, diamonds, and triangles. So much faster and easier. PS It is a lovely little quilt without the floral appliqués, too.
