Based on an antique, this scrappy little gem is full of simple techniques to improve accuracy on these small pieces. It is made up of six 2 ½” blocks with the two small “Square in a square” details appliquéd after the tip is completed. Each block is made up of four simple units that are stitched up as an abbreviated log cabin variation. There are very few places where seams need to match and, where they do, simple directional pressing ensures that the seams lock. Your fabric selections will set the style. Just think what it would look like in jewel-toned batiks on a black background.
